Reviews of TACA.TACA Summary American Continent air Transport is also called Transportes Areos del Continente Americano, or TACA for short, operates flights to 34 destinations in 19 countries all over the Western Hemisphere. It flies to Mexico City, 10 most important cities in the USA, Canada, Toronto, the Caribbean and all of Central and South America. Check-in times 3hrs before the departure passengers are recommended to check-in. Baggage allowance A piece of hand luggage is allowed with linear dimensions no more than 45 inches and weight limit of 22lbs. Passengers in economy class may have 2 checked bags with their total weight 100lbs.As for clase Ejecutiva, 3 checked bags are permitted but with the same total weight limit. Each bag shouldn’t weigh more than 70lbs and be larger than 62 linear inches. In case of overweight luggage (over 100lbs) a $100 fee is charged. Change to passenger name or flight Any changes may be made before the actual date of the flight for a $50 fee. This applies to unused tickets only and fees tend to be higher if they are changed later than 7 days prior to the flight. Child fares Children under 2 may travel for 10% of full fare. Because of this discount meals, seats and luggage allowance are not included. A baby buggy may be taken into the passenger’s cabin if it fits or it comes as checked luggage. A child may sit in a special child seat (if it’s fixed safely and meets all safety requirements) during the flight but not at the time of taking off and landing. If children need a separate seat, they pay 75%of full fare. Pet travel Pets are transported in the passenger’s cabin only. A fee for an animal is $100 unless it is taken instead any luggage and then it’s free of charge. Animals may be carried as cargo flying to/from South and Central America. In-flight service On any flight in economy class that lasts more than 2hrs food is provided for purchase (approximately $5 each meal). Children flying on their own are not charged for the food they take on board a plane as its price is already included. On long-distance flights beverages are offered free of charge. No special meals are served.
