Reviews of Spirit Airlines.Spirit Airlines Summary Spirit Airlines is the largest air company in the USA held privately which is the leading one in carrying passengers to the Caribbean. About 125 flights that spirit Airlines operates every day serve 26 markets in the Caribbean, the USA and the Bahamas. Check-in times Passengers should check-in 3hrs before the scheduled departure. If there is luggage, it should be done at least an hour before an international flight, 3/4 of an hour for Las Vegas and half an hour before a domestic flight. If passengers got their boarding passes online, they may go straight to the gate. Baggage allowance 2 checked bags and one piece of hand luggage are permitted to each passenger. One pays $50 for overweight, oversized or excess baggage. On flights to Jamaica, the Bahamas and Dominican Republic none of these are accepted. Hand luggage may weigh 40lbs at most and shouldn’t exceed the size of 45 linear inches. Checked bags should not weigh more than 70lbs each and be larger than 62 linear inches the 1st piece and 55 inches the 2nd. Change to passenger name or flight Up to 3hrs before the scheduled departure a passenger may inform the company if he/she can’t make his/her flight. To make any changes costs $40 per each customer plus any difference in fares in case he/she chooses another flight at any other time. Child fares Children may travel free of charge if they sit on an adult’s lap during the flight. In this case, one has to inform the company about it when booking tickets. Pet travel Small birds, dogs and cats are allowed to travel with their owners. When booking, one has to make sure a pet is included (a $50 one way for each transported pet). Animals either travel in a passenger’s cabin or in the storage compartment as checked luggage. Though the latter is not possible on flights to Puerto Rico, San Juan and the ones that are operated on the aircraft Airbus 321. Animals may not be carried at all on international flights to Mexico, the Bahamas, Jamaica and Dominican Republic. Pre-assigned seating Seats may be chosen and booked within 3 months before the flight up to an hour. Within the same period of time a customer may change his/her seat online. In-flight service Snacks (candy, muffins, chips, etc.) and alcohol drinks are provided almost on every flight for purchase. Cash is not accepted. Hot and cold non-alcohol drinks are offered for free.
