Reviews of Continental Airlines.Continental Airlines Summary Continental Airlines is the 6th largest air company in the world. The 5th largest in the USA, it is based in Houston, its hubs are located in Cleveland, Houston-bush and Newark. Continental Airlines forms partnership with KLM, Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines. The company provides flights crossing Asia, Europe and America when taking passengers to different destinations. Check-in times Passengers have to arrive an hour before an international flight in order to check-in and at least half an hour before a domestic one. Baggage allowance One bag and one personal item are allowed on board a plane. Their linear dimensions shouldn’t exceed 51 linear inches and their weight limit is 40lbs. Personal items include such things as laptops, purses, cameras, CD players, canes, wheelchairs, diaper bags, etc. When traveling within the USA, to/from Canada, US Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, luggage allowance is 2 bags (62 linear inches, 50lbs each at most) for those traveling in economy class. For OnePass Elite members this limit is the same - 2 bags - but with weight limit 70lbs each. On international flights one is allowed to take either 2 pieces of luggage free of charge with linear dimensions 62 linear inches and weight no more than 70lbs each. Change too passenger name or flight One can change the name or the flight, seat assignment, review and copy the reservation online on Continental Airlines’ website. Child fares Children under 2 traveling on an adult’s lap, fly for free. On a domestic flight they do not need a ticket but they do on an international one. If more than one child under 2 is traveling with the same adult, they are supposed to have a ticket and a seat having paid a child’s fare. Infants that are older than this age are supposed to have a ticket and a seat with a separate belt. Senior fares Senior fares are provided on some flights to those who are over 65. Pet travel Continental Airlines transports passengers with their pets as well. Cats, dogs, birds and rabbits are accepted in the passenger’s cabin for an $80 charge one way. A pet may be carried instead of hand luggage. To do this the owners should book their pets in advance either online or by phone. In-flight service Drinks are offered on flights that last 1.5hrs and less. On flights after 10 a.m. snacks are provided in economy class. Full meal and drinks are offered on the flights that last over 2hrs, if it’s a 3.5hrs-flight then a snack box and drinks are provided at each mealtime.
