It is also a member of Asia Miles - the program having around 18 airline partners and 2.45 million members. Cathay Pacific is based at Hong Kong International Airport and transports both cargo and passengers to 90 destinations all over the world. Check-in times Check-in and selection of seats may be done online 48hoursbefore the departure up to an hour and a half before it. It’s possible for those who are members of Asia Miles and The Marco Polo Club or just booked on cathaypacific.com. Passengers may get their boarding passes online from the check-in counters or using the service of CXpress check-in kiosk. Baggage allowance Passengers are allowed to have only one piece of luggage with linear dimensions 22x14x9 inches. Weight limit: First class – 33lbs Business class – 22lbs Economy class – 15lbs Passengers flying in First and Business class may also take a soft bag 8 inches thick at most. As for travelers to/from the USA several South American countries and Canada, 2 pieces of luggage are allowed but no heavier than 70lbs. A child sitting on a seat may have his own bag 45 linear inches and 70lbs at most. Pet travel Cathay Pacific transports pets as well but if their owners are flying to Hong Kong, they should be ready with the permission for an import and even transit of their pets. No animals are transported in the passenger’s cabin. Dogs, cats and birds travel in a cargo compartment.
