Reviews of ATA Airlines.ATA Airlines Summary ATA Airlines is an air company based in Indianapolis; it provides flights at reasonable prices to most popular holiday and business centers (the Caribbean, New York, Hawaii, Mexico, Florida, Dallas, etc.). Its hub is at Chicago Midway Airport. At present customers in 70 markets may use the service of ATA Airlines, besides, it organizes about 15 direct flights every working day to New York and many other destinations. Check-in times To check-in online is possible 24hrs before the flight. At the airport if there is no luggage to check-in, for domestic flights passengers are to arrive an hour before the flight, if there is luggage - an hour and a half. As for international flights, check-in starts 2hrs before the departure. Make sure you come earlier as in case the passengers are late, the company may cancel the reservation 60 minutes before the departure on international flights, 30 minutes on domestic flights and 45 minutes on flights to Denver. The same may happen in case passengers are not at the boarding area half an hour before an international flight and 20 minutes before a domestic one. For international flights one may need a passport, visa, inoculation record, re-entry permission, return ticket and health certificate. Luggage allowance On international flights two pieces of checked baggage and one item of hand luggage are allowed for free. Three pieces of checked baggage are allowed free of charge as well as one hand bag on domestic flights. Each checked bag should correspond to the linear dimensions (62 linear inches) and weight restrictions (50lbs). On charter flights weight restriction is 44lbs. As for hand luggage, it should not exceed 40lbs and it should fit either under the sit or in the overhead compartment. Each passenger is allowed to take into the passenger cabin one carry-on item and one personal item (a laptop, a purse, etc.). Necessary medical equipment and special devices for mobility assistance that a passenger may require are not considered as carry-on luggage. Child fares Children under two traveling on an adult’s lap, fly free of charge. Infants over 12 are charged a full adult fare. In-flight service During the flights that last longer than an hour drinks are offered, beer, cocktails and wine are available for additional charge.
